The Northeastern administration of Somalia has issued an order prohibiting individuals who are not members of its security forces from wearing military uniforms or insignia.

An order from the Ministry of Security directed the Police Command to immediately implement the order, and legal action will be taken against anyone caught illegally wearing military uniforms.

The order stated that the ban applies to all types of clothing and insignia used by security forces, stressing that the use of such insignia will be limited to members of the security forces who are officially working.

The Northeastern Ministry of Security also said that anyone who violates the order will be taken action in accordance with the security regulations and laws of the country.

The decision comes at a time when the Northeastern administration is engaged in dealing with ethnic conflict in the Sool region, which has caused many people wearing military uniforms to flock to the city of Lascaanod.
