Puntland Police have arrested a suspected police officer named Abdirahman Mohamed Ali, who yesterday attacked and injured police officers while they were on duty.
Security forces arrested the officer, who escaped after the attack yesterday, in an operation in Garowe city, after receiving information from civilians.
The attack left four people dead, three of whom were police officers from the Garowe Local Government Police Force, while two officers were also injured in the incident.
According to reports, the incident occurred hours after tax collection forces impounded a Bajaj vehicle owned and operated by the suspect.
Abdirahman Mohamed Ali was previously a member of the forces that fought in the Calimskaad mountains, but was recently dismissed from the force for disciplinary reasons, particularly for disobeying orders.
Puntland Police said that Abdirahman is currently detained at Garowe Central Prison and will be transferred to judicial institutions to go through the legal process.
