The Minister of Information of the Puntland State, Mahmoud Aydiid Dirir, has strongly condemned the ongoing conference in Lascaanod to finalize the SSC Khaatumo, describing it as illegal and irrelevant to Puntland.
The Minister stressed that it is time to close the conference.
newsinMinister Aydiid insisted that the SSC areas are part of Puntland, and therefore Puntland will not accept any decision that comes out of the conference.
The Minister also accused the Federal Government of Somalia of indirectly invading the Sool region, with a political plan to destroy the unity and existence of Puntland.
He pointed out that the federal government is carrying a bag with it in the new administration to be established in the Sool and Sanaag regions, which he said has its own political interests.
“The current conference is not the one they decided on in February 2023. The conference in Lascaanod is the result of an organization hatched in Mogadishu,” said Minister Aydiid.
He added that the conference was intended to distance Dhulbahante and Harti, describing Lascaanod as a “wasp den” that they have used as a base for anyone who attacks Puntland’s existence.
