The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre, today made a brief reshuffle in his cabinet of ministers, which resulted in only three ministers.
The spokesman for the Federal Government of Somalia, Farhan Mohamed Jimale, read to the media the brief reshuffle in the Prime Minister’s office, which affected the Office of the Second Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense.
Somali Defense Minister Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi has been appointed Second Deputy Prime Minister, replacing Abdisalan Abdi Ali Dhaay, who was also appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia.
Somali Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moallin Fiqi has also become the Minister of Defense, replacing Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi, who was the Minister of Defense of Somalia for a short period.
In recent days, there has been much talk of a reshuffle in the Somali Cabinet and security agencies, although there have been no changes to the various commands of the Somali Armed Forces.
On the 17th of last month, the Somali Prime Minister carried out a brief reshuffle in which some of the Cabinet members were replaced, while others were removed from their positions, such as the former Minister of Youth and the Minister of Transport.
