Representative Ilhan Omar, member of the US Congress, strongly criticized the policies of the new President of the United States, Donald Trump, who recently took office.
Ilhan Omar described the actions taken by Trump in the first 48 hours as reflecting a view of hatred and development delay.
In a press release, Rep. Ilhan Omar expressed several concerns about Trump’s policies, including his plan to revoke US citizenship from people born in the United States, the suspension of refugee resettlement programs, and measures said that they are exacerbating the problem of global climate change.
“I will not be afraid. We will defend our different immigrant communities,” said Ilhan Omar, clearly promising to defend the rights of the people she represents.
Ilhan Omar emphasized that such policies represent a setback in the efforts of development and equality. She assured members of the council that the Progressive Group is committed to strongly oppose these policies and will continue to advocate for a fair and sustainable administration.
