The former president of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, who was in Garowe, the capital of Puntland, spoke about the delay in his planned trip to Khatumo State.

Farmajo said that he was planning to travel to Lasaanood, the administrative center of Khatumo State and other areas, but he said that there were circumstances that did not allow him to do so.

“Although we have little time, we wanted to go to Lasaanod, in Khatumo State, but we have driven people away from it during this difficult hot season and in this month of Ramadan, when people are worshiping, to cause trouble to the people, their meetings and their coming out,” said Farmajo.

He also said Farmajo that he and the leader of Khatumo State administration, Abduqadir Firdhiye, have agreed to cancel his visit to Khatumo areas again.

“But when we talked with leader Abdiqadir Firdhiye, we said that it would be nice to come back, when the conference is held here (Garowe), let’s come to Khatumo at a good time, and start from Lasacanod, Buhoodle, Guumeys and Caroley and whatever is possible in those areas and meet the people,” said Farmajo.

The statement made by the former President of Somalia, Mohamed Abdillahi Farmajo, comes as Farmajo has been in Garowe in recent days for a meeting to oppose the process of reviewing and amending the Constitution, which is being attended by the leaders of the Federal Government of Somalia.
