Banadir Region donates $200,000 to Awdal Region to help with drought

The Governor of Banadir Regional Administration and Mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), has announced a $200,000 donation to support relief efforts in the Awdal region of Northwestern Somalia.

The announcement came after the Governor held a meeting with ministers and members of the Federal Government of Somalia elected from Awdal region, who briefed him on the critical humanitarian situation in the region, particularly the urgent needs facing the people of Awdal.

Muungaab said that the unity and solidarity of the Somali people is the key to rescuing those affected by the drought.

He noted that the Banadir Regional Administration and the people of Mogadishu stand by their brothers in Awdal, with this donation intended to urgently implement life-saving relief efforts.

This donation will be officially transferred to the Somali National Disaster Management and Relief Agency (SODMA), to ensure that it is used efficiently and in a planned manner to respond to the drought and prevent its spread.
