The Director of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloolshe, has highly praised the Macawisleyda Hawaadle clan for their commitment to the fight against Al-Shabaab.
Director Sanbaloolshe delivered a touching speech at a meeting held in Moqokori district of Hiran region, attended by members of the House of People, the Hirshabelle Minister of Interior, military officers, Macawisleyda leadership and some of the clan’s intellectuals.
The NISA commander called on the Macawisleyda Hawaadle clan not to limit themselves to defending their own areas but to help liberate other areas where Al-Shabaab is present.
“The war we are currently in is not only about defending our areas, but we must also take back all the areas that the Khawarij have captured, because as long as these men, Aden Yabaal, Ceelbaraf and Ceel Ali Ahmed, are defending us and digging holes, we cannot sleep in peace, we cannot sleep without worry and we cannot sleep with confidence,” said NISA Director Abdullahi Sanbaloolshe.
Sanbaloolshe also told the Hawaadle Maawisleyda that they are a symbol of the Somali nation as a whole, and that they are moving forward and backward, while the group is going through a desperate situation.
“I highly commend you for your resilience and your Somali identity, and for standing tall and showing that Al-Shabaab can be defeated when it was in 2022. You know that day and today, you did not defend yourself and did not fight back. They planned to divide us, oppress us, and make us surrender, and to disintegrate us, and to weaken us, and to humiliate us. They never gave up on that.” said NISA Director Abdullahi Sanbaloolshe.
Commander Sanbaloolshe also called on the clans in the region that are not part of the ongoing war to join and play their part.
“I appeal to the people to come together, to sacrifice their lives and property as much as they can. I appeal to the people that today, what is left for Al-Shabaab is small, let us come together, and there is no victory that we do not fear from you, we share the victory and we share the defeat,” said Commander Sanbaloolshe.
Commander Abdullahi Sanbaloolshe called on the Federal Government to utilize the strength of the local defense force while they are engaged in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
“I say to the Somali government that this is a military opportunity to defeat Al-Shabaab, and to capitalize on the will, courage and determination of the people of this region. Let us not delay, let us not waste time in meetings. Where there is a fire, we must light it with firewood,” said Commander Sanbaloolshe.
However, the Mawiis of Hiran are at the heart of the ongoing fight in the country that the Federal Government wants to liberate the entire country from Al-Shabaab.
