The Indian Navy rescued at least 23 Pakistani fishermen from Somali pirates after a 12-hour operation in the Arabian Sea.

The pirates were forced to surrender. The crew of the ship, which consisted of 23 Pakistanis, was rescued safely,” according to the Indian Navy in a statement.

The rescue operation took place in the early hours of March 29. The Indian Navy’s warship INS Sumedha intercepted the hijacked vessel FV Al-Kambar.

It is the second operation in which the Indian Navy forced the pirates to surrender without shedding any blood.

Earlier this month, the Indian Navy forced more than 30 Somali pirates to surrender and rescued the crew.

The Indian Navy also responded to an attack by pirates on an Iranian fishing vessel in the Arabian Sea on Friday.

She said at that time that two naval ships were diverted to intercept the hijacked ship after receiving information.

At the time of the incident, the Iranian fishing vessel was located approximately 90 nautical miles southwest of the city of Socotra and nine armed pirates boarded the fishing vessel.

The Indian Navy has carried out several operations against pirates in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean region.
