As reported, at the end of last year, on 25/12/2025, the elections for the local councils of the districts of the Banadir region were held in Mogadishu, in which about twenty political organizations registered with the Independent Electoral and National Boundaries Commission participated.
These organizations, which have shown great enthusiasm and action, are launching what is called the One Person One Vote Election for the Local Councils of the Districts of the Banadir region, with the election of 390 local council members in 16 districts of the Banadir region. Until now, the elected members have not gone through the oath-taking process and have started their activities, which is pending from the Ministry of Interior and Reconciliation, which is responsible for this task.
These organizations are preparing to compete again for the members of the Capital Council or the Parliament of the Banadir region, so that when they emerge, they can elect the Mayor of Mogadishu.
Among these organizations is the SINCAD Organization that entered the elections in the districts of the Puntland Regional Administration, with the Chairman of the SINCAD Organization, Mahmoud Hussein Jabiye, stating that they won the District Councils in 13 districts of the Puntland Administration, and he is happy that the districts of the Banadir Region have received up to 26 members of the District Councils.
A book called ‘Somali Election Magazine’ will be published soon, which will publish the history and educational knowledge of the Chairman of the SINCAD Organization, Mahmoud Jabiye, and how his organization reached that level.
