The Somali National Army (SNA) has carried out planned security operations in areas of eastern Hiran region, which were said to have cleared Al-Shabaab militants, according to the military command.

Officers leading the operation said the operations were targeting Al-Shabaab hideouts and were part of the ongoing campaign to eliminate the group’s presence in the country.

The commander of the 27th Division of the Somali National Army, Major General Ali Cagay, said the operation falls under a broader operation called “Enemy Levels,” which aims to rid the population of the group’s suffering and abuses.

“The Somali National Army is committed to ensuring security and protecting the population, and operations against Al-Shabaab will continue until it is completely eliminated from the country,” said Major General Ali Cagay.

These latest operations come as the Federal Government of Somalia further strengthens security measures, in cooperation with forces from countries friendly to the Government.
