The Banadir Regional Police Command has issued a strict order to soldiers riding motorcycles known as Fekons with weapons, and has informed them that it is not allowed and is prohibited.

After yesterday’s social media post about a person who was robbing civilians wearing a military uniform and riding a Fekon motorcycle, the Somali Police Force’s Hodan Station was able to arrest the suspect, Mr. Liiban Mustaf Adan, who is accused of a series of robberies that occurred in several districts of Mogadishu.

The Banadir Regional Police Commander, Macalim Mahdi, said that the suspect is currently in the custody of the Police, and will be referred to court to face the law.

Commander Macalim Mahdi urged the public that if they encounter a robbery or insecurity, they should immediately go to the nearest police station or call the short number 991, so that immediate action can be taken.

The Police Force once again stressed the importance of following the instructions of security agencies, in order to strengthen security in the capital and the country as a whole.
