A delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland was today welcomed in different ways to the Somali Regional Government and they are participating in the commemoration of the time it was founded.

Officials from the Somali Regional Government have welcomed the officials from the Somali Government at the Garad Wiil-Wal Airport in Jigjiga, among them, Abd Rahman Yusuf Al-Adalah, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information of Somalia and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Petroleum of Somalia.

Also, the border town of Wajale was welcomed by officials from Somaliland led by the Deputy Speaker of the Somaliland Parliament, Ali Hamud Jibril and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Somaliland A/lahi Jama to participate in the commemoration.

Tomorrow, the 23rd of January, the people of the Somali Regional Government will celebrate the time of its establishment and there are other delegates from the diaspora to participate in this event.

On January 23, 1993, the Somali Regional Government was established. At that time, Abdullahi Mohamed Sadi was elected as the President, who was the first President of the Somali Regional Government, while the capital of the region was at that time Godey, and later it was moved to Jigjiga. which is now the capital of the Somali Regional Government.
