Reports from the Lower Shabelle region say that in the past few hours between the towns of Wanlaweyn and Afgoye in that region, two soldiers belonging to the Dervish army in South West Somalia have been killed.

These two soldiers were traveling on the road connecting Wanlweyn and Afgoye, and they were killed by members of the Al-Shabaab group who followed them.

The soldiers who were killed were driving a two-wheeled motorcycle from Wanlaweyn district, heading to Afgooye district in the Lower Shabelle region.

There is still no news from the Afgooye district administration regarding the ambush that killed the soldiers belonging to the South West Army.

In any case, various areas and districts in the Lower Shabelle region are often attacked by the Al-Shabaab group targeting Somali government forces and African Union peacekeeping forces operating in the Lower Shabelle region.
