Reliable reports say that a preliminary understanding has been reached over the past few days between the Federal Government of Somalia and the South West administration.
The news adds that the authorities led by the Commander of the Somali Police Force, General Mahad Abdirahman Aden, who went to Baidoa to find a solution to the conflict, succeeded in putting all the obstacles in place.
Commander Mahad Abdirahman Adan and his accompanying members said that the president of the South West administration had several hours of meetings with him in Baidoa yesterday and today they finally reached an agreement.
President Laftagareen has agreed to participate in the National Consultative Assembly meeting in Mogadishu on September 25, and while he is in Mogadishu, he will hold meetings with the leaders of the Federal Government of Somalia, according to reliable sources.
It was pointed out that the first step to understanding is that both sides stop the harsh and angry words that could cause the conflict to start again.
In the end, the conflict between the South West and the Federal Government intensified when the South West administration and the people of those areas opposed the Somali government’s plan to send troops from Egypt to those areas, and to remove the Ethiopian troops from the South West.
