The administration of Banadir region has issued an order prohibiting the construction of high-rise buildings in the vicinity of Aden Adde airport in Mogadishu.
The districts of Hamar Weyene, Hamar Ghajab, Waaberi, Wadajir and Dharkeynley in the Jasira section, all of which are near the airport, are prohibited from building high-rise buildings.
“From today, 11-09-2024, no house taller than one floor can be built in the entrance of Aden Ade Airport and Halane Camp. no longer than three floors,” said the spokesman for the Banadir regional administration, Salah Dheere.
The administration of Banadir region has also said that anyone who violates this order effective from today onwards will be taken legal action.
The new orders issued by the administration of Banadir region are said to be aimed at ensuring the security and safety of international flights that use the Aden Adde airport in Mogadishu.
