Israel’s airstrike killed Iran’s security adviser in Syria.

On Friday, an adviser to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Damascus was killed by an Israeli missile attack on a district south of the Syrian capital.

The Syrian government’s SANA news agency, citing military sources, said that the country’s military shot down a number of rockets fired by Israel from the Golan Heights south of Damascus.

Israeli forces have been attacking what they say are Iranian targets in Syria for years, where Tehran’s influence has grown since it began supporting President Bashar al-Assad in 2011 at the start of the civil war.
