Jemal Beker Abdula, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, met with the Commander of the Pakistani Navy Admiral Naveed Ashraf on Tuesday.
In this meeting, the two sides exchanged issues related to maritime cooperation and regional security.
The ambassador said that the Ethiopian government has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Somaliland which he said is completely in line with international regulations.
He said that Ethiopia is working hard to connect the entire region through the sea, so that there is equal development in the entire region.
Ambassador Jemal Beker Abdula briefed the commander of the Pakistan Navy on the role of Ethiopia in the development of Africa, to foster brotherhood, and cooperation among African nations.
However, Ethiopia is currently focusing on seeking support for the maritime agreement it entered into with the Somaliland administration, after facing pressure from many countries including the United States and Britain.
Despite the pressure, Ethiopia said it will not withdraw from the agreement and is committed to implementing it.
