A young boy was shot dead by a police officer last night in the Badacas area of Hargeisa city.
Mustafe Abees, who was the brother of the famous poet who opposed the government of President Bihi, Abdirahman Abees, was shot dead by a soldier last night in Hargeisa city.
“Now a soldier has shot my brother Mustafe Abees in the heart,” poet Abdirahman Abees posted on his Facebook page. “My brother has passed away, may God have mercy on him,” he posted hours later on his website, Abwan Abees.
According to the former mayor of Hargeisa, Abdirahman Aydid Soltelco, the soldier who committed the murder and escaped last night, the police managed to arrest him this morning.
It is not yet known why the soldier killed Abees, and the government and the security agencies are not talking about the killing.
