The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned the attacks carried out by Iranian, Israeli and American drones on the energy industries of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

A press release from the Somali government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these actions are “a serious violation of international law,” and pose a threat to international security and stability.

“Somalia once again reaffirms its full solidarity and support for the Islamic states and peoples, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Iran, and supports any action to protect their sovereignty and the safety of their citizens and people living in their countries,” the press release said.

Somalia also called for a reduction in tensions and the initiation of dialogue to protect energy corridors that are essential for global stability.

“The Federal Republic of Somalia continues to work with regional and international partners to promote peace and protect energy infrastructure,” the statement added.

Iran has carried out major attacks on gas infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, further escalating tensions between Tehran and those countries. Saudi Arabia condemned the attacks, saying the low level of trust between the two countries had been completely shattered by Iran’s major attacks on its energy infrastructure.
