The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, has sent a strong message to some opposition politicians to the federal government.
Minister Ahmed Macalin Fiqi also said that some opposition politicians act like spokespeople for the Al-Shabaab group, and he called on them to avoid any speech that harms the operations to liberate the country from Al-Shabaab.
“I am sending a message to some of the men who call themselves the opposition who often appear in front of the media with statements that support the Khawarij, while also speaking like the spokespeople for the Khawarij. I think these men know each other and should be careful about what you do every time you say that the army is destroyed. The army wants you to stand by it, not just because some of you are members of parliament to say that,” said Minister Fiqi.
This statement by Defense Minister Ahmed Macalin Fiqi comes as some opposition politicians have repeatedly criticized the Federal Government of Somalia for its slowness in operations against Al-Shabaab.
Ultimately, it is unknown what will change from this warning message that the Minister has addressed to opposition politicians who are particularly critical of the military and the ongoing liberation operations in some regions of the country.
