The former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ambassador Yusuf Garad, called on the government of Somalia to take action against the Director of Transport and Aviation of Somalia, who recently released a statement to the press that offended the people of the South West.
Bashir Macalin Ali doubted the people who recently protested in the Bakool region who supported the presence of the Ethiopian army, that they are Somali people, describing them as Ethiopian children born during the government of Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed.
“The words I have heard describing Somalis as children of Ethiopians, pretending to be Somalis, is an offense that should not be silenced. It is a mistake that divides Somalis and can harm the country’s defense when needed,” said Ambassador Yusuf Garad.
Yusuf Garad said that action must be taken against the person who said those words, if he does not come back and give a reasonable apology.
