Some of the Somali religious scholars in a meeting held today in Mogadishu strongly opposed Ethiopia’s desire for Somali land, showing their support for Egypt’s relationship with Somalia.
In this meeting, the scholars clearly warned against Ethiopia’s aggression in Somalia, saying that they cannot accept it, and that it needs to be prevented.
Scholars have greatly welcomed Egypt’s relationship with Somalia, pointing out that Egypt is an Islamic country that has good cooperation with Somalia.
They also said that it is a religious duty to reject Ethiopia’s atrocities.
The scholars issued this call:-
They called to defend the independence and unity of the Somali nation
They called on the community to unite for the defense of the religion and the country, and avoid anything that could destroy the unity of the people.
They warned people against inciting and dividing the society.
They called on the government to create an environment where people with disabilities can talk to each other to strengthen unity.
They called on Ethiopia to protect its neighbors and peace for the people of the two countries.
