A meeting held in Garowe in recent days with some intellectuals from the Nugaal region ended with an agreement, agreeing on measures to strengthen security and efforts to defuse the tension in the city.

According to the participants, the discussions focused on strengthening security, preserving the unity of Puntland, and developing a unified stance on the complex political situation in Somalia.

Preliminary information obtained from a meeting held last night in Garowe indicates that the parties agreed to defuse the tension in Garowe and to separate the forces that are fighting in parts of Garowe.

The agreement also reportedly calls for the return of Commander Jimcaale to Garowe, as part of efforts to restore trust and stability.

Preliminary reports add that it has been agreed to begin reconciliation efforts between Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni and Commander Jimcaale Jama Takar, whose differences have been part of the political crisis in the city.

The agreement also calls for the expansion of the committee previously tasked with resolving the Garowe crisis, with the addition of new members including former Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Faroole and Said Hirsi Bulxan.

To date, the Puntland administration has not officially issued a statement detailing the agreed points, and there has been no official statement from other parties involved in the matter.
