The Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned the renewed violence in Aricaddeeye area of ​​Bari region, which has resulted in the deaths and injuries of civilians.

In a statement issued by the ministry on Tuesday, it was stated that the fighting is between two brotherly communities, and has caused significant loss of life and property. The ministry described the violence as a threat to public peace and stability in the region.

The ministry also called on security and judicial institutions to promptly investigate the incident and bring to justice anyone found to have played a role in inciting the violence.

The statement also called on traditional elders, scholars, women, youth, local intellectuals and Bari regional administration officials to play an active role in ending the violence and implementing peace efforts to prevent further bloodshed.

Finally, the Ministry of Interior called on the people living in the conflict areas to refrain from actions that could lead to war, and to support peace and reconciliation efforts to protect the lives of civilians.
