Industrial Development and Investment Discussed by the Governments of Somalia and Turkey.

The Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Jamal Mohamed Hassan, held a meeting with the Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, which focused on the Industrial Zones Initiative in Somalia and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the areas of industrial development.

According to a statement from the Somali Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the importance of utilizing Turkey’s expertise and experience in industrial development was discussed in particular, in order to support Somalia’s efforts to industrialize the country.

The two sides also agreed to develop cooperation to promote investment, strengthen production capacity, create job opportunities, and accelerate sustainable economic growth.

The Minister of Commerce and Industry of Somalia, Jamal Mohamed Hassan, said that he met with his Turkish counterpart, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, in Istanbul, and they discussed the Industrial Zones Initiative in Somalia.

“I shared with the Minister the Initiative for Establishing Industrial Zones in Somalia, and we also focused on areas where we can collaborate, and benefit from Turkey’s expertise,” said Minister Jamaal.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia said it is committed to strengthening international cooperation in the fields of trade and industry, while also promoting the development of Somali industries.
