The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in collaboration with international partners, has carried out planned operations targeting Al-Shabaab fighters and leaders in Mudug and Hiran regions.
According to a statement issued by NISA, these operations resulted in the killing of more than 22 plotters who were organizing attacks against the security of the public.
The first operation took place in Dumaaye area of Mudug region, where a gathering of Al-Shabaab fighters and senior leaders was targeted. 15 members were killed, including leaders Hudeyfa Galinle, Qataatow, Abdirahman Garwayne, Dahir, and Abdiwali.
The NISA press release also discussed operations in Mahaas district of Hiran region, where two houses were targeted where leaders and fighters who were guards of Mustafa Caato, the Al-Shabaab leader in the region, were located.
The operation resulted in the killing of seven (7) militants, including two leaders who were important to the group’s finances, namely Qaliif Mumin Sabriya and Osman Abdulle Farah. The operation also destroyed vehicles used by these leaders.
