Sheikh Mustafa Haji Ismail Harun, one of the most prominent Somali scholars, spoke strongly about the steps taken by Somaliland towards Israel regarding recognition.
Sheikh Mustafa spoke in depth about the problems faced by Jews, noting that the problems that Jews have caused Muslims have surprised even Christian countries.
“Israel is not only considered Jewish, but they are a colonizing people who invaded from other countries and want to colonize other people, they have made promises that they cannot break,” said Sheikh Mustafa Haji Ismail.
He called on the Somaliland community and politicians to distance themselves from dealing with Jews, citing as an example what would happen if their land were given to Israel like Palestine.
“It is true that if people were to be settled in Hargeisa, Berbera or Burao and say we have recognized them, you would believe what you would believe about the Jews,” said Sheikh Mustafa Haji Ismail.
The Sheikh also pointed out that politicians who seek justification for Israel’s attachment to the fact that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Jews had previously made an agreement, he explained that the Jews with whom the Prophet made an agreement were living under him, but they were not invaders like the current ones.
“The Jews with whom the Prophet Muhammad made an agreement lived under them, they nullified the agreement by exposing a Muslim girl, and that was how it was nullified, there was no promise they could make that they would not nullify, so why not justify the Prophet’s agreement,” said Sheikh Mustafa Haji.
Finally, Sheikh Mustafa said that the Israeli administration is characterized by instability and bloodshed, most recently in Gaza City, where it killed thousands of innocent Palestinians, including children, women and the elderly, and the blockade has besieged more than 2 million Palestinians.
