A press release from the Jubbaland administration stated that the country’s salvation lies in a genuine national unity to overcome the country’s difficult political situation.
Jubbaland also accused the Federal Government of Somalia of deviating from all important agendas, which include the fight against Al-Shabaab and preserving the unity of the country.
“Jubbaland believes that the country’s salvation lies in a national unity and a true leadership that takes responsibility for the future of Somalia,” the Jubbaland press release said.
The Jubbaland press release also stated that Jubbaland welcomes the decisions of the Somali Salvation Forum led by former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
“It is unfortunate that the Federal Government has failed to provide leadership that unites the Somali people, while constantly preoccupied with short-term political interests that have further eroded public trust,” the Jubbaland press release said.
This news from Jubbaland comes as the political conflict between the Jubbaland administration and the Federal Government of Somalia continues to escalate, causing both sides to clash in areas and districts in Gedo and Lower Juba regions.
