The Somali National Army and the Hiran Local forces are making their final moves to liberate Aden Yabaal district in the Middle Shabelle region from Al-Shabaab.
Military activity is being felt strongly in the areas surrounding Aden Yabaal town, which has been under the control of Al-Shabaab for the past few months.
The Director of NISA and the Commander of the Somali National Army’s Land Forces are coordinating the joint forces to retake the key town of Aden Yabaal from Al-Shabaab.
“We visited the National Army and local forces in the early stages of the battle in Aden Yabaal district. We commended the selfless struggle they are engaged in to defend the country, both them and the local people,” said Commander Sahal Abdullahi Omar.
Commander of the Somali National Army’s Land Forces, Sahal Abdullahi Omar, has ordered officers of the army and local people to intensify the fight against Al-Shabaab.
These military activities are coming, with Somali Defense Minister Ahmed Macalin Fiqi recently stating that all areas in the Middle Shabelle region will be liberated from Al-Shabaab as soon as possible.
