Some members of the House of the People have launched a campaign to show their support for MP Mohamed Ali Omar Cana Nuug, who recently made a derogatory remark about his disability to the Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Aden Madoobe.
The MPs, who carried sticks to show that disability is not a bad thing, went to MP Cana Nuug’s house to show their support for the MP and apologize for the offense he received from the Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur Madoobe.
On the other hand, the Himilo Qaran Party praised the members of the Somali Parliament who showed their support for MP Mohamed Ali, and the party pointed out that the message and shared feelings of the members of the House of the People encourage the dignity and inviolability of protecting the rights of people with disabilities.
“The Himilo Qaran Party also condemns the personal offense that the Speaker of the House of the People of the Somali Parliament, Aden Mohamed Nur Madoobe, committed against MP Mohamed Ali Omar and other members of the parliament,” the Himilo Qaran statement said.
Finally, the National Vision Party called on the senior leaders of the Federal Government to seriously address the current political crises in the country in order to achieve National Unity and guide the country towards an inclusive political agreement.
