The Humanitarian Affairs Forum Conference opened in the capital of Mudug Region, Galkayo.

The Chairman of the Somali Disaster Management Authority (SoDMA), Mahmoud Moalim Abdulle, today inaugurated the Somalia Humanitarian Forum (CHF -2025) in Galkayo, Galmudug State, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the relief sector, finding sustainable solutions to climate change adaptation, and strengthening emergency response mechanisms.

Mahmoud Moalim noted that Somalia is facing a difficult humanitarian situation and a combination of challenges, such as the lack of rains in the Deyr, the unpredictable Gu (Gu) monsoon, and the increasing risk of La Nina in some areas, which has significantly affected the lives of millions of people.

The Chairman of the SoDMA, Mahmoud Moalim, specifically noted that the crisis is being exacerbated by displacement, insecurity, and a lack of funding for aid, and the forum is attended by representatives of international humanitarian agencies.

The conference will be attended by Ministers of State for Humanitarian Affairs from the federal states, Banadir region, Ministers from Galmudug, Mudug regional administration, donor agencies, humanitarian workers, ambassadors and various other distinguished guests.

During the conference, these leaders will discuss solutions to climate change and strengthening emergency response mechanisms. It is held three times a year, and this year the theme is strengthening and strengthening humanitarian issues in Somalia.
