The SSC-Khaatumo administration has spoken out 24 hours after the killing of Farah Jama Caidid, who was a member of the Ethiopian consulate in Garowe, in Lascaanod.

The SSC-Khaatumo Police Commander, S/Buluto Siyaad Mahmoud Abdirahman, said that investigations are underway to determine who is behind the officer’s murder.

The commander said that those behind the murder will be brought to justice.

The commander did not confirm that anyone has been arrested for the murder, but said that security agencies will promptly provide the public with official information related to the incident.

Today, the Attorney General of SSC-Khaatumo, Abdullahi Hirsi Dheere, revealed information about the killing of the officer who was a member of the Ethiopian consulate in Garowe. The prosecutor blamed Al-Shabaab for his murder.

The prosecutor added that Farah previously survived an attack by Al-Shabaab, in which he was injured. He also said that Farah was once a member of Al-Shabaab but defected.

However, the killing of this officer is the first killing attributed to Al-Shabaab in Lascaanod since Somaliland was expelled from there.

During Somaliland’s administration of Lascaanod, such targeted killings occurred, which ultimately led to the armed uprising that ousted Somaliland from the capital of Sool.
