Reports are emerging that the Federal Government of Somalia has decided to expel Anna Saleem Högberg, the Consul and Head of Aid for the Swedish government, from the country, as quoted by Global Bar Magazine.

Although the Somali government has not officially commented on the matter, sources indicate that the reason for her expulsion was a disagreement between the two parties.

The newspaper noted that the Somali government made this decision against this woman last March. Anna Saleem Högberg, has been the Head of Aid for the Swedish government since 2022.

She previously worked in a similar position in Sudan before working in Somalia.

An informed source who spoke to the newspaper said that a disagreement between Anna Saleem and the Somali Prime Minister and his office was the reason for her expulsion.

In this report, the newspaper also said that Högberg was accused of “defaming the Somali government.
