Federal Government Council Meeting Discusses Fighting Al-Shabaab.

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre, chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers today, Thursday, to discuss the fight against terrorist groups, especially the fight against the Al-Shabaab group in some regions of the country.

At this meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Somalia, a detailed report was presented on the ongoing wars to eradicate terrorism, with the council praising the courage and sacrifice of the National Army and those in the regions who are fighting against Al-Shabaab.

The Council of Ministers stressed the importance of continuing to visit the battlefields, in order to encourage the heroes of the Nation who are fighting to rid the country of terrorist groups.

Also, the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre, gave the council a report on his visit to the battlefields in the Lower Shabelle region on Sunday, instructing the council to continue supporting and standing by the National Army.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals shared with the council the progress of ongoing oil exploration activities and the challenges they face, with the Ministry stating that the 3D Seismic Survey will be completed before the end of this year, in order to determine the oil reserves and move on to the next stage of drilling oil wells.

The council meeting approved the proposal of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development to renew the position of Deputy Director of the National Statistics Agency, Abdirahman Omar Dahir, for a fixed term.
