The Puntland Military Court today heard the case of men accused of belonging to ISIS and Al-Shabaab. The defendants brought before the court amounted to 10 defendants, including 2 foreigners.
One of the defendants who was brought to court, who said he had defected from Al-Shabaab, told the court that he was going to set up a training camp for new Al-Shabaab members in Buuhoodle town and surrounding areas in Cayn region.
The man said that many people he knows living in Buuhoodle district are Al-Shabaab members, who he said received training in Jilib town.
“Most of the people living in Buuhoodle are Al-Shabaab. Many who were training were arrested. I was trained to create chaos in Buuhoodle and its surroundings. That is what made me refuse to be part of Al-Shabaab,” said the man, who did not give his name, but was among 10 defendants arraigned in the Puntland military court in Bosaso.
He said he was initially detained in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, and then decided to go to Jilib, the headquarters of Al-Shabaab.
The defendant said he initially surrendered to the Liyuu Police, but they told him they could not help him. He said the Liyuu Police advised him to go to Puntland. He said he did not have He said that he had committed no crime. He said that when he was not satisfied with the ideas of Al-Shabaab, he would defect from it, saying that they had threatened to kill him.
However, the Puntland military court is set to issue a verdict for the defendants who will be brought before the court.

4- Mushir Mohamed Said, 38 years old, a foreigner.

6 Abdilaahi Ali Ayuu, 25 years old.
7 Abdilaahi Ahmed Yusuf, 25 years old.
8- Mohamed Macalin Adan, 25 years old.
9-Hasan Yusuf Macalin Isaaq, 27 years old
10-Amxmed Mohamed Abdi, 40 years old.
