The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who returned to the front lines of the war today, arrived in Adale district in the Middle Shabelle region.
Hirshabelle President Ali Abdullahi Hussein Guudlawe, other federal and state officials, officers and military commanders welcomed President Hassan Sheikh in Adale district.
The Somali Presidency announced that the president’s trip to Adale district is part of the acceleration of the war against the Al-Shabaab group, which is currently in full swing in the Middle Shabelle region.
“The president is inspecting the front lines of the war and the bases leading the country’s liberation operation, while holding meetings with veterans of the Armed Forces, leaders and the local community on the front lines, in order to continue the effective achievements made in the war on terrorism,” said a statement from the Somali Presidency.
President Hassan Sheikh praised the people living in the areas of Hirshabelle administration for the support they have shown to the national security forces, noting their ability today to complete the operation to liberate the remaining areas of Al-Shabaab.
President Hassan Sheikh’s visit to Adale district today comes after a similar trip the day before to the frontlines of the war in the districts of Aden Yabaal and Moqokori in Hiran and Middle Shabelle, where he held meetings to accelerate the fight against Al-Shabaab with Somali National Army officers and leaders of the Macawisleyda army.
