According to a plan prepared by the US State Department on the red list, the country’s authorities plan to tighten entry rules for citizens of several Arab countries, according to the New York Times.
The newspaper revealed that the new US immigration law will affect 43 countries, and it is reported that the US State Department has proposed dividing these countries into three categories.
Citizens of countries in the first group will be banned from crossing the US border, such as Yemen, Libya, Syria, Somalia, and Sudan, in addition to Afghanistan, Bhutan, Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, and Cuba, according to the State Department plan, a copy of which was obtained by this newspaper.
The second group imposes a major ban on visits to the US and includes 10 countries, namely Russia, Belarus, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Turkmenistan, Eritrea, and South Sudan.
The third group includes countries whose citizens are subject to a ban or total ban on entry to the United States, and they are: Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Vanuatu, Gambia, Dominican Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, Cape Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Congo, Liberia, Mauritania, Malawi, Mali, Sao Tome and Principe, Guinea, Saint-Centre, and Chat.
Meanwhile, the newspaper explained that the three lists were issued by the State Department a few weeks ago and may be subject to change.
