Puntland has sent military experts to the front of Calmiskaad, where its forces are fighting against Daesh, to formulate a strategy for the final phase of the war.

Among the officials deployed to the opening are Gen. Mohamed Hirsi Moogan, a former member of the Somali Armed Forces, Gen. Bashir Amerika, the former head of Somalia’s police force, and other security experts.

The purpose of the trip of these officials is said to be to reduce the losses of the Puntland army in the war against Daesh, as Puntland has already lost more than 100 soldiers and several officers in this war.

Videos released on social media showed these officers setting up the battle plan, which shows the preparations for the final phase of this operation.

However, Puntland has lost many young officers in the war against Daesh, and others have been injured.

The officers that Puntland lost in the war against ISIS include Major Mukhtar Gaagale and Colonel Farhan Hareed, who were in the front line of the war against ISIS.

Officers including Gen. Fu’ad Hanano and the deputy commander of the Puntland Daravish army S/Bug Abdirahman Mohamed Jama.
