The Minister of Information of Puntland, Mohamud Ayid Dirir, said that the Daesh group has now remained in an area of only 40 km, while the Puntland forces are expanding their operation in the battle areas of Calmikaad.
Also, the Minister noted that Daesh is currently in a mountainous area of about 15 km, and if they are removed, the troops will move to an open area that will make it possible for military vehicles to be used in the war.
Mohamud Aydeed promised that the war against Daesh will be ended in a short time, noting that the Puntland forces have already achieved significant victories in the war.
On the other hand, Puntland’s Minister of Information blamed the Federal Government of Somalia, criticizing that the weapons donated to fight Daesh were stored in Mogadishu, instead of being delivered to the war zones.
He also said that the government has neglected its role in delivering weapons and ammunition to the areas where the fight against terrorist groups is taking place.
