Senator Abdi Hassan Awale Qeybdid, one of the members of the upper house of the Somali Parliament, warned that the country is facing an unprecedented threat caused by the government led by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, after an interview he gave to the local TV, SMS Somali TV.

Abdi Keybdid, who was asked many questions, spoke hotly about the way the government is doing things now, which is not a good way. The wealth of the people has fallen into the pocket of an individual, the people must seize it before the vision of the government disappears.

Senator Qeybdiid expressed in the interview his fear for the future of the country, and said “I never thought that Somalia is going on a dangerous path, but today I am really afraid of the stability of the nation under the current leaders”.

He called on Somali politicians to unite to defend the country, stressing that Somalia is going through a difficult phase that requires immediate intervention. He criticized the government’s policy and described it as a threat to the existence of the nation.

Qeybdied accused President Hassan Sheikh of changing the constitution on his own, claiming that Somalia is no longer working under the legal constitutional system. “There is no constitution now, what exists is Hassan Sheikh’s special constitution,” he said.
