The United States Bureau of Criminal Investigation (FBI), is looking for private companies or organizations to help implement or manage the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) in Somalia.

In this news it is said that the FBI is looking for vendors who can provide a range of technical services, such as logistics, and training to support the implementation and maintenance of the biometric identification system in Somalia.

Somalia’s Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) is part of an effort to strengthen Somalia’s capacity for criminal justice and counter-terrorism through advanced biometric technology.

The FBI wants to strengthen law enforcement capabilities in Somalia, ensuring stability and security in the region by strengthening biometric identification.

This initiative also reflects the Federal Government of Somalia’s use of advanced technology to address international security challenges.

The FBI said this system plays an important role in enabling the Somali Police Force (SPF) to effectively identify individuals linked to criminal or terrorist activities.
