The Independent Commission for National Elections announced today that they will release the National Election Calendar in less than a week.
Abdikarin Ahmed Hassan, who is the chairman of this committee, who held a press conference with the media today, first of all said that the committee is independent, and its job is to conduct transparent elections in the country.
“We will share with you in a week the main schedule of the elections, when the registration of organizations and voters begins, we will start marking the polling stations,” said the chairman of the Independent Election Commission, Abdikarin Ahmed Hassan.
Governor Abdikarin Ahmed noted that the last time a vote and vote was held in the country was in 1969, but now his committee is ready after more than 50 years to hold an election in the country for the Somali people to choose their leaders.
However, this election committee was appointed in November last year, and the appointment of this committee was opposed by the authorities of Puntland, Jubbaland and members of the opposition to the federal government.
