Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation arrived in Ankara, Turkey last night, after receiving an official invitation from his country’s counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The president and his delegation went to Ankara to participate in the third round of dialogue between Somalia and Ethiopia.
The President’s delegation includes his Defense Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the Chief of Security Sanbaloolshe, the former Deputy Prime Minister MP Mahdi Guled, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Macalin Fiqi.
Earlier, the Somali government said that it will not hold direct talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed until he withdraws from the agreement that the Ethiopian government made with Somaliland and that it respects the protection of the independence, unity, and territorial integrity of Somalia.
The Federal Government of Somalia thanked the government and the people of Turkey for their continued efforts in facilitating dialogue and leading the process of finding a lasting solution to this issue.
