The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, denied the allegations that the Somali government is planning to destroy Jubbaland, after the government sent troops to the Lower Jubba region.
President Hassan Sheikh has indicated that there is no intention or plan of the Somali government to interfere with the administration of Jubbaland.
President Hassan Sheikh said that the government wants Jubbaland to be freed from Alshbaab. He said that Ahmed Madobe has been the president of Jubbaland for almost 14 years, but he has not liberated a single district of that administration.
The President of Somalia said that Ahmed Madobe stored the weapons and support provided by the world in the war against Al-Shabaab instead of using them for the liberation of the region.
“He never moved to liberate the country. “The day the government forces arrived in Raskambooni, they took out the weapons intended to liberate Al-Shabaab from Jubbaland,” said President Hassan Sheikh.
On the other hand, President Hassan Sheikh said that there is no need to tribalize the government’s actions. He also stated that the Somali government is committed to bring political and security solutions to all regions of the country, including Jubbaland.
