The Chairman of the Disaster Management Agency Md. Mohamud Macallin Abdulle welcomed a delegation from the Turkish organizations of AFAD, KIZILAY, TIKA, IHH and DYANET to the headquarters of SoDMA, led by Md. Kubilay Ozyurt is the Head of Communications of AFAD.
The chairman toured the delegation to the offices of the headquarters and some food storage warehouses, before the delegation was escorted to the NEOC Operations Center, where a meeting was held focused on the general report of the Agency, the strengthening of the response the urgent situation, the necessary support and enhancement of the quality, capacity and knowledge of SoDMA operators.
The chairman of the agency, Mohamud Macallin, who greatly thanked the visit, emphasized the importance of the support of the Turkish government and organizations for emergency aid, such as; providing food, housing materials, health support, training to build the capacity of workers, tools to enhance operational capabilities and generally implement joint initiatives for vulnerable people.
Md. Kubilay Ozyurt, who expressed his gratitude for the reception, noted the long-standing relationship and cooperation between the two governments of Turkey and Somalia, promising that AFAD, which is responsible for disaster management in the country, will strengthen both institutions. in collaboration with SoDMA.
