Somali forces, especially the 47th Division of the 8th Brigade, have conducted operations against Al-Shabaab in several areas in Bay and Bakool regions.
The operations took place in the areas of El Sharif, Mooro-Busle, and El-Mareere, all of which are located between the Bardale district and the Goofgudud Burey area of the South West administration.
The commander of the 47th unit of the 8th battalion two stars Ahmed Mohamed Nur told the media that the operations are part of the efforts to strengthen the security and stability of the South West areas.
The commander also said that the operations caused damage to the Al-Shabaab group, although he did not confirm the nature of the damage caused by the group, and indicated that the country’s armed forces are continuing these operations against Al-Shabaab.
These operations carried out by the armed forces in the areas of Bay and Bakool are coming, as a day ago, operations took place in areas of Galgaduud and Middle Shabelle, killing 59 members of the Shabaab, which included leaders and militiamen.
