The government of Somaliland has called on the parties to conduct the elections in a free and fair manner.

Somaliland’s Water Minister Saleeban Yusuf Ali Koore, who gave a special interview to SKY Cable, suggested to the opposition that genocide should be avoided.

“My friends, I am saying that we should compete in a nationalistic manner. We have the right to compete for the seat, but it should not be a country that undermines nationalism,” said Minister Koore.

Koore said that as a party they hope to win again in the elections, claiming that the Kulmiye government has done twice as much as they promised in 2017.

The campaign for the elections will begin in the month of October, as Somaliland will hold the same election for the second time, consisting of the election of the president and the political organizations.
