However, the president of Jubbaland has rejected the idea of elections, which Villa Somalia advocates for the holding of elections by person and vote, and a single election committee, while Ahmed Madobe wants a separate election.
There is no great hope of reuniting again, and attempts by the Prime Minister and the President to convince Ahmed Madobe to accept that the country should go for a unified election have already failed.
Ahmed Madobe wants to hold an independent election similar to the one that took place in Jubbaland in 2019. He opposed the unified election plan influenced by the federal government.
