The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, gave a speech touching many aspects at the meeting of the United Nations Security Council which discussed the issues of Somalia.
Minister Fiqi in his speech strongly criticized the greed of the Ethiopian government for a part of the water and land of Somalia, noting that Ethiopia is turning a blind eye to the conflict and is busy trying to seize Somali land.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia also presented in his speech that illegal weapons were seized from Ethiopia, which are fueling local wars and empowering extremist groups.
The Minister of Fiqi also mentioned the support of the African Union Interim Mission in Somalia, ATMIS, which has done a lot in fighting the federal government against Al-Shabaab and Daesh.
Finally, Minister Ahmed Macalin Fiqi confirmed in his speech that Somalia is committed to working with the United Nations in the fields of security and governance, and he thanked and praised Ambassador Sania Strasi for her role in the previous discussions.
